BERLIN (Reuters) - Thyssenkrupp's Steel Europe unit is aiming for an average improvement of its earnings before interests and taxes (EBIT) by 600 million euros (£515.45 million), it said in a staff letter seen by Reuters on Wednesday. In the letter, the steel production unit said that it would cut up to 1,000 jobs in administration, adding that an additional 200 staff would be affected in its operating business.
