Spam emails

Spam emails provide the most effective ways to target unsuspecting victims and gain access to their devices. Such activities can compromise personal finances and perpetrate identity theft.

Once the criminals get access to details like passwords, security questions - answers, or pins, they use them to commit multiple frauds online.

They are experts in their tactics. They embrace sophisticated technologies to lure people into clicking on bogus links that can redirect the page to malicious pages, leading to the download of malware, which can steal information from the device.

How To Avoid Risky Actions on The Internet?

  • Do not open attachments or click on links on the internet. Avoid malicious addresses that can redirect your page to malware downloads.

  • Do not reply to unsolicited emails asking for details related to IDs, PINs or passwords.

  • Do not log in to the webpage through an email or message link. For example, do not open attachments in unsolicited emails or respond to messages asking for such secretive credentials. Instead, you can hover over the page address and check it before clicking.

  • The criminals can spoof an email address, and it may appear to be coming from known reputable people or firms, but the message may be unusual or suspicious.

  • For example, any reputable organisation will not send an individual message asking for a fund transfer into an unidentified account, threaten legal action, or seek deposits to send a reward.

How To Protect Yourself?

  • Use multiple emails, one for personal correspondence and the other for online shopping.

  • Never click on spam sites. Certain malevolent users can verify the receipts and record your responses on your active account.

  • Always click on HTTPS://. Do not use HTTP:// to make payments.

  • Do not get pressured into checking unreliable web pages.

  • Keep the browser and operating systems updated and use anti-spam filters to get reliable connections.

  • If any fraud has been committed, report it to the authorities.
